Trigger Point Dry Needling?

Has anybody had trigger point dry needling for their headaches, neck, or shoulder pain? If so, did it work and how long did the effects last?

This morning on my visit to the dentist for teeth cleaning, my dentist who is also a Cranial Fascial Pain Specialist, felt the trigger points on my left temporal area and mentioned dry needling. The knot were definitely there.

My acupuncturist, explained that they also use needles on trigger points, even if those points are not on meridians. She pointed out a few places where she inserted needles, in me, that are not located on meridian acupuncture points.
