Message to all who are suffering..

I have been noticing a lot of people who are very down and out lately. We have all been having such a difficult time with migraines and other health issues and I hate seeing all the posts of people feeling worse instead of better. Wish we could all wake up free of this, and all the various problems we suffer from.

I just wanted to write this to remind everyone to keep a positive outlook. I know it is so difficult when it feels like everything is falling apart at the seams.

Try to take it one day at a time, or even just a minute at a time. If you are feeling well for that minute, see what kind of task you can do to brighten your day. If you have to call it quits, I know it gets depressing but it's okay. There is always another time for what you'd like to do and it can always get better.

Never give up! Try and think as positive as you can with the pain you are experiencing. I'm not silly, I understand when you are at 8-10 you aren't going to be running around thinking of daisies and happy puppies but when you can, don't dwell on the problems.

It's bad enough these health issues leave us all bedridden on so many days of our lives, why should we let them take the times we have where we can somewhat function or function well?

I'm wishing everyone pain free days in the future. No matter when you read this, I hope tomorrow is even better than today!

Thanks, Gia. That means alot. I don't know what it is, that lately the migraines are more frequent, or worse, or, both, for a lot of us. It helps to remember that they won't always be that way.

Dealing with a 7 tonight, which is about as bad as my migraines typically get (anything over a 7 is rare now since I've been on Topomax), with nausea and a really fuzzy brain. It took me 4 tries to spell "nausea" correctly (I did, didn't I?) and I'm a stickler for spelling, usually. Ugh. Ah well, this too shall pass!

Dealing with 9. Appreciate your words very much, but for me, at least for now, no pain free days since last August.

Well put, Gia. I caught myself the other day getting down in the dumps about it. And I was having a pretty good day! Not totally pain-free, but pretty good.

I caught myself whining to a old friend who I had lost contact with. I'm not going to see this person on a regular basis nor talk to them that often, so I don't know why I even brought up. I know why, I was having my own little pity party. And it didn't make me feel any better at all, it just kind of ruined my pretty good day.

I can use words of encouragement like yours to remind myself to have a sunnier outlook on other aspects of my life.

It's hard to stay positive when you are in pain all the time, but to be negative all the time just makes the pain worse. Even when I'm in excruciating pain, I just keep the thought that this will pass. Maybe not soon, but it will pass and things will be better again. My cats help.. it's hard to be completely miserable when you have a little ball of fur purring in your lap.

No cats, my son and grand daughter are allergic, but got the doggie.
Please dont think I am negative all the time. I am not, I am fortunate that as soon as I feel bertter, I run with it.
But when it goes on like this it isnt even negativity, it is just pain. And being imobilized just lets my stupid brain dwell on the wrong things.

Your kind words are nice. I appreciate your support. I think we probably all have our moments (several of them I would bet) where we are positive even tho we are hurting and miserable here. I know that I come here because I know I can vent about things, but when I am doing my kids' bedtimes, for example, I am happy and smiling and enjoying the great things in life.

It is BECAUSE of you guys to "lean on" and "vent to" That I CAN be ok in other moments.

Wow that was uplifting. I read it earlier but felt too bad to post but I've read it again this evening and it made me smile and gave me hope. You're so right about making the most of the good times. You need to grab them while they're there.
