Different types of migraines Empty Different types of migraines

Post  Jewishmother Sun Apr 17, 2011 9:52 pm

I seem to have 2 distinct types of migraines. The ones I am used to and have had over 30 years are mostly made up of stroke-like aura symptoms that knock me out but over the past 5 months or so I have also experienced migraines without aura that are composed of only pain. These new ones are only triggered by weather changes. Anyone have more than 1 type of migraine? Just curious.........seeing my neuro tomorrow after a 2 year break from messing with the meds. Leslie

I have 2 distinct types of migraine. The first and now worst are the ones caused by smells. The second is either caused by or worsened by a cervical neck problem at C4-5 and 5-6 where I have facet problems which were injected and are doing much better. The smell ones have been around since childhood. It's frustrating to try to make people understand.

I have two types...right side and left side! Sounds weird but they're totally different. The left side is less painful but can have me spewing. The right side is more painful but less nausea. They both last 3 days. Sometimes if i'm really unlucky like last week they take turns. I never have both at the same time thank Gordon. I love you

I have different types too. Sometimes I just get neurological symptoms such as numbness, tingling, ear ringing, anxiety, smelling odors that are not there, depression with NO headache, other times I'll get the visual aura following by a mild headache usually at the back of my neck and other times a combination of everything including nausea. Lately I am getting DAILY symptoms of something. When I saw a neuro back in November he looked at me like I was crazy when I was trying to explain all of it to him. Needless to say I am seeing another one but can't get in until August! It's all driving me crazy!
