film Black Swan - Have you seen it?

Although I haven't seen it yet, I have been doing a lot of reading about the film, Black Swan. I am quite intrigued with the story. If anyone has seen it, I would appreciate your comments.

I'm like you- heard a lot of hype about it, was supposed to go to the theater, never happened
and now I am waiting for it to be on DVD.

I don't go to the movies much, but I was so intrigued wth Black Swan I drug hubby and four other people with me. All six of us walked out going "HUNH? Really?". My guys aren't cultured so I was thinking we missed something in the symbolism.

However my DIL and her sister had years of ballet and they had the same reaction. They just didn't see what the fuss was about.

Excellent performances especially by Mila Kunis, she was robbed by not getting an nomination and I didn't even recognize Winona Ryder. To me Natalie Portman wore the same expression through out. But, she did do a fantastic job of dancing.

We were all disappointed, though perhaps that happens when you buying to the publicity too much.

oh, just a cute side by side...we went to the matinee and had the theatre to ourselves. it was, in order of seating, hubby, me, son, sons wife, wifes mother, wifes sister.

After the first graphic sex scene my son loudly whispered "I would be sitting next to my mother". After the second even more graphic sex scene son said "Okay, I'm good now, I can leave".

Costumes were beautiful, oh and Barbara Hersey also did a great job and kudos to her for aging gracefully and not looking plastic. Not many of the beauties in Hollywood have the courage to do that.

Definitely watch it on DVD, but be prepared that it was over-hyped.
