Re: Dr. Singer
doesn't dr. singer sound like a saint? wow, a professional who really cares about "headache" people. i put it in quotes because it is definitely NOT an ache, but truly awful pain.
many thanks for posting this, cheryl. now i understand that what i have is not just a variation of regular migraines, but that i have 1) migraine and 2) NDPH.
my own case fits into the box of the head pain escalating after sinus infections. and sinus and nasal surgeries, 3 over my lifetime.
although there are no wow-factor answers, there is definitely hope, when we have doctors like dr. s. on our side. dianne

Re: Dr. Singer
Cheryl, Thanks for posting that link. I have registered there and will be interested in following the discussion. I believe that a lot of the cases of NDPH will be found to be caused by bacteria(lyme for me), viral (Zoes started after a viral illness) or insult to the brain. I think that the reason the antibiotics are working at the beginning is that they are treating a bacterial infection.
These are front line drugs for Lyme and other tickborne diseases. There is always a lot of talk on Lyme support groups on how to get drugs to cross the blood/brain barrier. How is Anna doing? It didnt sound too good on your last Caringbridge post.
Hugs,
Cindy

Re: Dr. Singer
A very interesting article. I could not find a good definition for New Daily Chronic Headache. How is it differentiated from migraine?
