All three finalists deserved their place in the finale. Unfortunately Rebecca didn't win. I have been rooting for her from the start, but it wasn't meant to be. I am sure she will move on to bigger and better things from now on.

The same goes for One Direction. They are as cute as a litter of wriggly puppies. They might well become the next Take That.

As for triumphant Matt; he was my second favorite behind Rebecca so I am pleased he won. I did not like his single tough. It is a cheesy song and doesn't do him justice.

Also I was not at all best pleased with Rihanna and Christina Aguilera on Saturday. This is a family show and not a strip joint. Ladies.... there is a difference between sexy and downright sleazy.

Christina was also a let down in her duet with Rebecca. While the other stars shone the spotlight on the contestants Christina was only interested in trying to outdo Rebecca. Badly done Christina, badly done indeed.

PS: Watch out American friends.... x-factor is heading your way!

i agree one hundred percent petzi i turned it off when the stip girls came on as i didnt want my 7 year old watching it and am writing to the itv to say so.

we had a powercut just as the finals last night started and it came on as matt was singing his song and i thought then... this is a nothing song and doesnt do his voice any justice.

i was also rooting for rebecca and will be waiting for her cd to come out!!

I agree with all of both of your comments ladies.
I have been in dreadful pain all weekend, and really struggled with my grandkids being here.

I had to shield the 4 year old from the strip routine, and Matt's final song really assulted my head....
What a crap song, where was the tune?

Although I am not (as we know) a fan of Rebecca, in the final analysis, if that's his song...hmm
I heard this morning that he was in the lead every single week on the voting. He didnt know that.

One direction are cute. Especially Harry.
The girls love them, they will be back...I bet Simon signs them....

I am just glad its over. Now one more week of dancing and thank goodness...

I thought this comment in yesterday's Daily Mail was spot on.

"During her duet with Rebecca, Aguilera had the flinty detachment of someone who had just been dragged by the hair out of a nightclub and forced into an irritating contractual obligation.
It might have been tactful of her, not to say humane, to tone down her overblown vocal histrionics when paired with an amateur in a talent contest, but that’s not Aguilera’s style.
As she bellowed like a hormonal she-frog with hiccups, Rebecca cowered under the onslaught as if she was Cinderella being given a sound thrashing by an Ugly Sister. Which in a way, she was."

Pen, the original version of this song is great. I love it. It's by a band called Biffy Clyro (original actually called Many Of Horror) and the singing of it on xfactor at the weekend did it no justice at all.

Look up the original! Very Happy

I am not an x factor fan and I'm really annoyed that this song has been covered (and IMO ruined!) so soon after it's original release.

My daughter is into them. She didnt care for his version either, but it isnt a favourite song of hers.
I know they are Scottish, but cant say I know much more about them.

If you are a fan, I apologise, I dont think I have liked anything Matt sung, and I hate verbal acrobatics.... Embarassed
