My head drives me crazy!!!! Empty My head drives me crazy!!!!

But not with M for a change - no, I have horrible, irritating problem with shampoos and conditioners and styling products and I can not for the life of me figure out what it is that causes all this itching and burning and pimply sensation on my scalp,
mostly at the base, sides and sometimes top of the head.

First I though I have dandruff but after using every kind of anti dandruff shampoo, Nizoral included - it's not it.
Then I started eliminating various conditioners, I think 99.99% I am allergic to silicone that makes hair slinky and easy to comb out, so no more silicone conditioners and shampoos.

Then I thought its Sodium Lauryl Sulfate but after buying Burt Bees and Baby Johnson's shampoos - it's not it, either.

Now I put away Small Talk, the only styling product by Tigi I use and I think I feel slightly better but ..
I don't have much hope as I usually feel better for a few days after every change.

Does anybody have any idea what may cause this annoying uncomfortable feeling on my scalp?
I have an appmnt with my Dr on Now 29.
last time I seen her I forgot to ask about that and I hope I won't forget again!

Sorry, no idea about the cause, but perhaps you might want to give your hair a rest from any chemical products for a while, and then start one by one, to see what is causing the problem ( something like elimination diet).
In meantime you can use egg yolk as conditioner, and pure rain water as a rinse. It leaves your hair nice an silky. Leave a wide container outside and keep catching it when it rains. It is great. I sometimes use it when my hair gets "tired", like now, with central heating and cold winds etc. play havoc with my hair and it becomes unmanageable.
Sometime, less is more.

That happens to me if I change hair products. I get painful little pimples and it itches. I had tried a shampoo from the $1 store. I don't use high end products for my hair, but I'm guessing the really cheap stuff had too much detergent.

Also it happened when we first moved out to the country. Hubby wasn't putting enough salt in the water softner. Anything going on with your water? The rain water might be a good idea to find out if your well water is the cause.

If your not on a well is it possible the Water Management Plant has changed the chemicals it adds to the water?

If you're that positive its the silicone...Lush is completely silicone free. I'm not trying to push you into a brand, or into the place that I do work, but when I saw the silicone info, I just had to share.

Thank everybody,
Mini I only use one shampoo that's all, as of now so it comes down to changing shampoos, really.
I am too exhausted to play around with home remedies but I thank you for suggestion all the same.
Maybe in summertime when I have more energy, and it's warm in the house.

Lush - I love Lush, and in fact I was eyeing some shampoo there last time I've been in their store! I forgot the name though but it was similar scent to Ylang Ylang body wash Body Shop had years ago.
Thank you for letting me know it's silicone free!

Charlie- strangely enough, all my problems started when I bought I.C.E mint shampoo at the hair shop store.
I liked it while at the stylist because the eucalyptus in it (the shampoo) cooled my scalp and made it tingle
and by doing that helped with the HA.

But after two weeks or so at home, I've realized my scalp is burning and itching like crazy!
And ever since I have problems with shampoos I've never had before! like Neutrogena etc.
In desperation I bought cheap Aussie in a purple bottle and it stopped.
Then I had a number of other shampoos with no plm until now, no matter what I use looks like everything makes me itch!
I think I will buy it again, too.
