Supernatural

Post  pen on Thu Sep 30, 2010 10:35 am

We are way behind with this, having discovered it late.
Just half way through season 4.
Now they took off season 5, so its a question of buying it on DVD.
BOY do they fleece you. They break it into two parts and charge about £50 for the lot.
Season 6 is coming out in the US isnt it?
Does anyone else watch it?
I am so dumb, I should have asked someone to tape it whilst it was on.....

So next season Vampire Diaries starts next tuesday.
I do recall some of you watch that (I think).

My kids are waiting for Glee!!

TV is pretty cruddy, so I guess we get into things.
It all started with 24......Come back Jack, all is forgiven.

I record Supernatural when they have marathon days on and then watch them later. I never know which season I'm watching.

Richard - Yep, I'm a total Gleek too and thought I was the only one my age. When the reruns were on this summer I got them on my DVR and then just watched the songs since I'd seen the show.

I spend much more time with the TV than I should but it helps to forget how much pain I'm in. When I take a painkiller there's not much more that I can do.

So when is Glee back? No sign of it here yet.

I stock pile things to watch with migraine.
I need a distraction waiting for medication to hopefully kick in.

Supernatural with hotties Jared and Ackles?
sure I watched Smile

not all, though. I still have a chance as it keep re-running on a few channels here.

I however think they went bit too heavy with "where is God, end of world" etc. hullabaloo,
hope the new season will be as good as the beginning was.

Do you have to buy the DVDs?
can't you just rent them?

Ah, good thought Risa, maybe we could rent them. So long since I did that, it doesnt occur to me.
Season 3 at the end got very heavy and half way season 4 and still pretty strong stuff.
I like it when Jenson Ackles has more fun.

Not seen him in anything else, but know Jared padalecki from Gillmore Girls.
Nice viewing... Razz

Yep, DH loves this show. I watch it with him, but I'm not as much of a fan as he is. But then he watches the cooking competition shows with me, so it all works. lol

I didn't start watching Glee until last year when another older friend told us to try it. I"M SUCH A GLEEK! I love that show now. I can pick out people that I went to school with that resembled each of those characters.

Pen, I haven't seen Supernatural.
Funny that you should mention 24, I'm renting each episode through itunes (final season) as it's cheaper than buying the season and I used to Love the show. I haven't watched a few seasons, though.
I think I'm on episode 17 or something...I find the show (along with Law and Order SVU) so similar to Scooby-Doo. I used to love the cartoon as a kid. You'd encounter the bad person on the show, but wouldn't know that they were the bad person until the end.
You always have moles on each season of 24...it took me a month of background checks to get to work for HSBC, don't they have stricter checks for high government agencies? lol....anyways, sorry, off subject.

I love Vampire Diaries. It's one of my (not anymore) secret guilty pleasures. Great characters...more entertaining than the Twilight movies, in my opinion!

I've tried so hard to be a Gleek. I don't know why I haven't been able to get into it. I love love musicals; I played in a pit orchestra for several musicals in NY several years ago; I am also a music nerd with my instruments. I adore singing. What is WRONG with me?!!!
I probably didn't give it enough time...maybe 15 minutes of 1 episode!

Ok, over and out. I, too, rely on tv to distract myself from pain...SVU, Criminal Minds, House, Lie to Me, Top Chef, Project Runway....mind-numbing but entertaining rubbish. Love it!

hugs,
T

ps. I do watch BBC America quite a bit, too. I wish they showed more shows that I liked, but at least its a taste of home!

I love Supernatural. If you get the US station TNT, they show the reruns every morning, 2 episodes every day. Season 5 was intense, and the new season, 6, started last week.

I watch shows on BBC America too. Love Being Human. Watched Survivors when it was on, and was bummed when it was canceled. Like Dr. Who, mainly cuz I think the new Doctor is a hottie. Not Jared P. and Jensen A. hottie, but still, a hottie. He's my type Very Happy LOL
Course, I think Mitchell the vampire on Being Human is a total hottie too Razz

Jensen Ackles used to be, or even still is - I haven't watched it for so long- on Days Of Our Lives - an American soap opera
(I used to watch it good 15 years ago when my daughter was little)

Recently, I saw him in a big screen movie My Bloody Valentine (once they started show it on the Tv HBO)

If you are interested, Pen, in actors whereabouts you can always found out on imdb - it's Internet Movie Data base

http://www.imdb.com/

just put the name/s
(or the movie title, if you forgot the actors names) in Google search and Imdb next to it
and presto!
you will have almost everything they ever played in.

here's Ackles:
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0010075/

looks like his Days are over.

btw,
I used to watch Gilmore Girls, too! looks like we have similar taste, at least in this venue.

If you like Supernatural, you may like also Medium
http://www.tv.com/medium/show/22414/summary.html
which is available on DvD as well

and maybe Ghost Whisperer
http://www.tv.com/ghost-whisperer/show/33483/summary.html

Ghost Whisperer is so cheesy, but at least there is a mystery plot too, and Jennifer is so pretty!

On the totally different note now- who loves Road to Avonlea?
what I love about this show is how well mannered people used to be and beautifully they used speak to each other.
It is so gone nowadays. perhaps this warrant separate thread?

I have migraine today and am watching an old G.G because it just right to distract a little but not need "following".
Excuse me if I just answer Risa for now. Albeit briefly.
Thanks for all of those suggestions. I shall check them out.
And did you know that the hotel Lorelai opened in the GG was the Waltons House????
They didnt even change it, it looked the same, with the barn and all.

Sorry, screen hurting eyes....TY

I tried to be a Gleek, too, and just couldn't get into it. Like you, T, I've only tried a couple shows.

"Mind-numbing but entertaining rubbish" is what I rely on: House, Intervention, Hoarders, Dancing with the Stars, House Hunters, The Nate Show and QVC (fashion), etc. I do like the Avonlea series, too. Anything that doesn't take too much brain work but takes my mind off the pain and discomfort.

I haven't seen Supernatural.
