Have any of you ever had this? I had it a few years ago and it was awful, I walked as though I was drunk, when I'd bend down or turn over in bed, the room would spin. Well I have it again and I hate it. Does anyone know how long it lasts (I can't remember) and if there's anything you can do for it? My family doctor is away for another week.

Have you tried these exercises?

They have worked for me, they were recommended by a nurse practitioner, when I got my first case of vertigo.

I get this every Spring from allergies. They clog up my inner ear and wreck havoc on me. Dramamine or Bonine work very well. Make sure you get the kind that has Meclizine as that is the medication that helps the inner ear. It works fairly quickly (30-40 minutes) depending on how bad the vertigo is. Then I take it every night for a couple of weeks until my allergies are under control.

Yes and it's HORRIBLE!!! The docs gave me anti sickness tablets but I don't take them because it doesn't actually make me feel physically sick, just woozy. The best thing I find for me is to just lie down and try not to move a muscle. Sleep also really helps me. I got out of bed one morning and nearly crashed head first into my mirror wardrobe doors! I ended up on the floor but managed to avoid the mirrors. Thankfully!

It really is not a nice thing to have. You have my sympathies. Sad

Oh no, this sounds really awful. I've heard of Meniere's disease, and I hope this is not it.
Whatever it is I hope you'll get over it quickly Ruth as it sure is not pleasant thing to have.
