stamina

do you find that having migraines your stamina is not as good as people you know who dont get them?? i know my stamina certainly isnt and where others will kepp going im sitting down for a rest or off for an afternoon sleep!

That depends on how you want define stamina. Just the fact that we get through this life in chronic pain means we have tons of stamina. That being said, when in the throes of a nasty one, I need all my stamina just to get through it. I think that since we are spending our energy dealing with agonizing pain and the assorted neurological crap that comes along, we run out when it comes to doing the every day stuff.

So I look at it as if I am already doing something physical and have to ration the remaining energy or restock by taking a nap. I feel no guilt over my afternoon naps. I need them to recharge for the evening. If the people who don't have chronic migraines or chronic pain of some sort were dealing with this too, they would be napping right along with the rest of us.

I think I have much more stamina that the average person considering my handicap. On my bad days, others would call in sick, cancel activities or stop much sooner. I push on.

On my good days, I walk higher, stay up later, play/work longer.

It's only after real bad ones and days of unrelenting pain that I crumble and have to fall.

----what I could accomplish if not for migraines-----

i mean by stamina more energy levels where i would drop sooner than others who dont get migs! and yes i too have to recharge ready for the evening!
