Commercials for OTC"S.....
As I was lying here in incapacitating pain I opened my eyes (halfway) and saw a commercial on TV. For Tylenol Rapid Release I think. There was a woman with a headache. Blond, long hair, pretty. (you get the idea) She took the pill. Cut to next scene....woman (same one of course) in a convertible (passenger) with long hair blowing in the wind. Big smile. Arms in the air as she is so happy and painfree. I thought to myself.....this is why people who don't have migraine headaches don't really get it. Afterall, all you need do is take a pill.

Even worse, is the Excedrin Migraine commercial because that is directed at migraines. Just take one and you get on with your life--right.

I'm in complete agreement with both of you. If an OTC like Excedrin would 'cure' me I'd be buying stock...all it'll do for me is kinda take the edge off, make me sweat (caffeine), and make me irritable due to all the trips to the loo.
Taking the edge off isn't worth the other SEs, since then I'm just a slightly less grumpy, still photo/phono-phobic, still hurting (usually takes a # or 2 off the pain scale), and now sweating and irritated.
Sorry, those commercials urge a rant, which I'm guessing they do for you too.

We have these ads for sticky on things which are for "migraine". We discussed these on here.
They dont do a damn thing, but it makes the "model" smile again.
We too have ads for magic medicine. Its amazing the things you can do that you never could before if you take these drugs.
Ride horses, ride bikes through wonderful countryside. And ski......Worth taking even if you dont have headaches...

I had a relative tell me after I was out of the hospital and diagnosed with vertabro basilar migraine "I heard you got good news! It was only migraine!" then in explanation to the look on my face she added "At least it wasn't a brain tumor!" which they also found but don't seem to think is a problem. I wanted to say "I have one of them too!" but just walked away.

There is a new commercial out and the last sentence was "and after one Advil it will take away headaches and migraines too".
My guy looked at me and I said "what?" He said he was waiting for my rant!
Those commercials floor me. I've written letters, but they never respond. Those marketers lie as bad as face cream commercials.

We used to have one for women's sanitary items. I am surprised everyone, men included didn't wear them.
The things they let you do:
Roller blading with your dog.
Hang gliding.
Sky diving.
My husband was very tempted
