Something a bit different.

Wolfgang and his father Leopold created the "Toy Symphony." A bit different than what Wolfe might have made in his older years (especially compared to "Die Ausfuhrung aus dem Seralgio" and some of his other symphonies.

This one will stay in your brain for a bit. A bit light-hearted.

I think I have a Phillips CD.

My music collection is all over the place.

I can see that uder Toy symphony it says: "Kindersymphonie"...
I like this (original) title much, much better.

I think Mozart wrote it for children in order to introduce children to music and to make it fun. This is really wonderful, specially in that era when children were not given much serious consideration, let alone paid so much attention as needed to compose such serious piece of music.

But I also wonder if Mozart has written this in a way for himself, since as a young genious/prodigy he really did not have much of a childhood being dragged all over Europe and expected to perform and entertain. Perhaps in this way Mozart is expressing the kind of things that he has missed as a child himself?
IN this way, he was a kind of Michael Jackson of his day. NO childhood, despite popularity and glory, it must have been a lonely existence for a child (sorry there speak a therapist in me - old habits and all that...).

Ahhhhh....let's not compare Mozart to Michael Jackson.

Kindersymphonie was a collaboration between Wolfgang and his father. It's interesting to listen to various works over his lifetime. I'll line him up with Beethoven & Haydn as some of my favorite old school composers.

Yes, you can compare their chiildhoods, their start status of the day, their early death....

IT is not their music I compare - I am talking abou the tragedy of their lives where there are surprising parallers.
