At a high rate of speed.

This cow came very close to body slamming my camera and mount.

Wow! All I get is an occasional snake and an anole (those little Florida lizards). Oh wait, had a cougar run through the yard but my only witness was my cat....and she ain't talkin'!

Thanks for all the neat stuff you post, Brent.

Yesterday I almost hit a really bizarre looking coyote. Shocked Turned out to be the neighbors Airedale. Laughing

Deer and coyotes by the bucketful are about all we get in our yard.

Our dog has her own 1/3 acre pen and she hates elk. So any time they come close she practically turns herself inside out barking. I am sure they were a bit spooked since most of the time they just amble around.

She doesn't mind our deer or any other critters, including the coyotes.

Very cool Brent - thanks for sharing. Smile

The only thing I get in my yard is squirrels and the neighbors overly-friendly indoor/outdoor cat. Not exciting...

haha we get ticks, squirrels(just ask my crazy dog who drags me everywhere to catch them when I walk him..who by the way is a lovely 90lb predominant doberman mix), lots of birds, chipmunks, and I see the occasional deer in the area. I wish I got to see neat things! I saw a black bear camping once..I backed away VERY SLOWLY and then once out of sight...RAN!!!! Laughing

in our part of paradise they began 15 yrs ago a relocation program for elk and since or road was one of the insertion points we still have a large herd
they are majestic animals but are the dumbest when on the road we have to drive with our headlights out if they start running with the car at night and the rut season all that bugling its is neat
living in the woods deer elk moose bears beaver martins mink ground hogs hawks eagles
thats why we moveed here

We often have a herd of deer in our yard in the early morning. They like to tease my dog, I think. They get fairly close to the house, and she (my dog) barks her little head off from inside the house. They look at her, as if taunting her, and continue to graze. My dog sits on top her crate so she can see outside in the yard. She's a good watch dog!

Close by, but not in our yard, we have coyotes, mountain lions, antelope, bald eagles, hawks, pheasants, etc. A couple of moose were sighted last fall near the Yellowstone about 1/2 mile from us--they had apparently been following the river. There are a few elk in the more outlying areas.

Cool! It sounds like a camera trap could be interesting to put up somewhere close. They are much less expensive now then even two years ago.

But it's still cool to watch the critters just with binoculars or out the window.

Yes. I love to watch animals, whether wild or domestic.... and birds too. I often imagine how they're communicating with each other and with other species.

I like to watch people too, I guess.....Like at the airport or shopping mall. I like to wonder about their lives, occupations, problems, etc. Weird, isn't it?
